Soup.
Soup is a versatile dish that we especially enjoy when we’re sick or the weather outside is miserable. You can make soup from just about anything, but we have a particular fondness for Italian minestrone, pea soup with sausage, creamy tomato soup, Grandma’s homemade chicken soup with alphabet pasta, and deep red, earthy borscht. One somewhat unusual soup simply had to be included in this list: Soup, created by Garage Beer. This is only a soup in the loosest sense. It’s more of a wonderful IPA that, for reasons that remain a mystery, bears the name Soup.
The cold brew from the Spanish brewery pours into the glass (or bowl?) in a delicate, cloudy lemon gold, forming a crown of fine, white foam. An enticing, tropical-fruity aroma awakens the thirst for beer. The taste reveals a silky-smooth mouthfeel with a dense, intense flavor. The brew caresses the tongue with a creamy texture – just like a rich soup. Exotic fruits like peach and mango meet freshly grated citrus zest on the palate, hints of pine resin, and a full-bodied bitterness that provides a beautiful contrast to the juicy fruitiness. A crisp, dry, and lingering finish crowns the beer experience, leaving a hoppy aftertaste that leaves you wanting more.
