At this point we would like to introduce you to the Swedish brewery Smögenbryggar'n. The brewery can be found in the town of Smögen on a small island in the North Sea. Fish and the fruits of the sea have not only been on the residents' menu for centuries, they have also been their livelihood for a long time. Today many people earn their money from tourism, but the sea and its treasures have never lost their importance. In order to create international awareness of the value of our oceans and to support sustainable algae cultivation locally, a project group came together and founded the Smögenbryggar'n brewery.
Using regional grains, hand-picked hops, water from the local Lilla Dale surface spring and a few maritime surprises, the team brews modern craft beers that conjure up a fresh sea breeze in your glass. There are algae and seaweed in many of the brewing pieces, and the brewery also uses mussel shells to regulate the pH value of the brewing water.
We admire Smögenbryggar'n's innovative ideas and their unique way of incorporating local resources into the brewing process.
