The Schlenkerla brewery from Bamberg likes to bring out its popular classics in special special editions. The special edition of their drinkable lager is an unfiltered version of the light beer and comes with 4.3% alcohol and is therefore quite drinkable.
The unfiltered light in the limited special edition flows into the glass in a warm gold tone and wears a stately crown of white foam on the delicately cloudy body. The unmistakable smoky aroma for which the Franconian brewery is so famous rises from the fine-pored splendor. In addition, there is a strong note of malt, which smells of freshly baked biscuits. A touch of green hops rounds off the olfactory aroma play. The initial taste is silky smooth and flatters the palate with mild carbonic acid and a subtle smoke aroma. The light plays great malt tones that taste like sun-ripened grain, fine caramel and freshly baked bread. The variety of malts is joined by a load of hops, which rounds off the variety of flavors with crisp bitterness and elegant freshness.
This beer differs from the conventional Hellen from Schlenkerla in its somewhat more unpolished, coarser malt character - Exactly the right choice for friends of malty beers with substance!
