The prototype. A legend.
As the name suggests, the prototype is the very first beer from the Kehrwieder creative brewery. It was already being brewed when the brewery did not even have its own brewhouse: Out of sheer passion for brewing and great impatience, the future brewers from Kehrwieder decided to go to their friends in Denmark. In the sacred halls of Reaker Molle Bryghus, people talked shop and experimented, brewed and tinkered with until four hop varieties could be selected and the first test brew created. After an infinitely long seven weeks in which the beer was bottled and allowed to mature, the brewers could no longer take the tension and dared to take the very first sip of their prototype.
And what shall we say? The prototype hit like a bomb.
The enthusiastic brewers simply named the prototype the first beer in their future range and kept both the name and the recipe. The prototype from Kreativbrauerei Kehrwieder went down in history not only as the first beer in their success story, but was also the first cold-hopped lager in Germany. With its fruity aroma and unique character, it not only delights fans of the brewery and us, but also regularly the jurors of renowned international competitions. A full-length victory.
