Organic is booming, and numerous breweries have now recognized this. The Franconian brewery Kundmüller, which brews the good Weiherer beer, has also jumped on the bandwagon and has been offering a selection of excellent organic beers in addition to its traditional range for some time.
In order to get the organic seal for beer, the raw materials must come from organic farming. Organic farming is subject to strict controls and guarantees the avoidance of genetic engineering and harmful sprays. The ingredients for the Weiherer organic beers are hand-picked and of course organic. They give the beer its powerful character, tempting color and incomparably good taste.
The Weiherer Organic Zwickerla Dark flows into the glass in a copper-red amber tone and is completed by a crown of firm, white foam. The beer is unfiltered and therefore appears almost naturally cloudy. The visual appeal is complemented by a heavenly scent of fine caramel, roasted nuts and sweet malt. A hint of baked apple and a little yeast complement the aroma and make you look forward to the first sip. This reveals a malty beer with a Franconian character. Full-bodied notes of oven-fresh bread, roasted malt and creamy caramel caress the palate. Toasted nuts, dried stone fruits and a hint of nutmeg skilfully round off the aromatics. Towards the finish, a slightly floral hop note complements the strong malt body.
The Weiherer Organic Zwickerla Dunkel from the Kundmüller brewery is a tasty Franconian beer with a full-bodied aroma that goes perfectly with snacks, roasts and bratwursts.
