Of course, one thing cannot be missing from the wide range of the Kundmüller Brewery: a good IPA! The Franconian brewery is the cradle of the extremely popular Weiherer beers and was recently named German Craft Brewery of the Year 2020. An occasion we are only too happy to drink a chilled IPA!
The Franconian India Pale Ale is brewed with five types of hops and four types of malt and is, like the brewery from which it comes, a winner. In 2019, the beer won several awards and, in addition to countless fans, also impressed the jurors of renowned competitions. The hops Cascade, Equinox, Huell Melon, Citra and Mosaic give the beer its refreshingly fruity character, while the selection of malt compliments the hoppy splendor with soft sweetness and delicate caramel notes.
The IPA from Kundmüller is presented in a copper-red amber tone in the glass and is adorned with a small crown of white, airy foam. A wonderfully hoppy scent rises from the head and tickles the nose with notes of tangy grapefruit and fine, spicy pine resin. Initially, the IPA is malty and kisses the tongue with aromas of caramel and roasted grain. The hops add a dark fruitiness that tastes like wild berries. A tangy note of grapefruit and a bitterness that increases towards the finish round off the play of aromas.
An atypical IPA that you have to try!
