The Kundmüller Brewery team is a tight-knit gang. With a lot of enthusiasm and vigor, they brew the finest beers together and celebrate the festivals as they come. The celebrations are not always as big as on the occasion of the appointment as German craft brewery of the year 2020, but smaller festivities are also celebrated appropriately. And so it can happen that the boss gets his own birthday beer.
For Roland Kundmüller’s 50th, his team brewed the rollator, in honor of Oswald Kundmüller there is OSw-Alt this year. The Altbier was actually only intended for the chef’s palate, but he was so enthusiastic about it that he added it to the range. Fortunately, because we like the dark top-fermented just as much!
OSw-Alt is presented in a dark amber tone in the glass and exudes an enticing scent from the slightly tinted, fine foam. The strong aroma of roasted malt is accompanied by the smell of caramelized nuts and a hint of raisin. The first drink presented a surprisingly slim beer: Despite its dark character, OSw-Alt is light and tangy. The Altbier is subtly balanced and impresses with its round softness and great drinkability.
In the Meininger’s International Craft Beer Award 2020 competition, the Franconian Altbier caused a sensation and won gold with taste and quality!
