Ratsherrn Pilsener was the beer that made the brewery famous at its beginnings in the 1950s. The tart brew appealed to the North German palate and impressed with its calm, straightforward, and unmistakable character. This brew had a very special stand at Ratsherrn.
Today, the brewery from the Hanseatic city is building on the success of its heyday. But not before taking a completely different direction. The company has traded its aspirations for mass production and gigantic output for a sustainable, deliberately slow, and regional concept, and it's doing quite well with it. All beers mature in peace to their full glory, allowing sales figures to simply be sales figures. The Ratsherrn Pilsener has been reissued in keeping with the original, and a non-alcoholic version has also been created to match.
Ratsherrn Pilsener 0.0% simply replaces the alcohol content with a generous amount of hops: Using dry hopping, the Citra, Herkules, Saphir, Select, and Tradition varieties are elicited for maximum flavor. Paired with a clean malt base, this results in a robust Pilsener that's tart, finely sparkling, with a hint of lemon, grass, and wonderfully bitter on the tongue. Anyone looking for a light-bodied drink with absolutely no alcohol should definitely try this expertly hopped Pilsener!
