A beer that purrs, scratches and bites? Only our tamer of the wild traditional beers Tilman can do something like that. “Der Weizen” is also a very special beer from Tilmans Biere. This time, the southern Bavarian creative brewer takes a closer look at the classic Hefeweizen and puts his stamp on it. The result is definitely worth seeing – and tasting!
The Weizen is another take on a classic beer style from Tilman’s brewhouse. In typical Tilman style, he took a Bavarian classic and completely transformed it. The brewer has made it his mission to beat the conservative Bavarians at their own game and turns traditional beer styles into creative, exciting and tasty brewing works of art. In his wheat he combines traditional craftsmanship and creative brewing art to create a hoppy masterpiece. The sunny yellow gold of the beer comes from the use of light wheat and malt varieties. The addition of top-fermenting wheat beer yeast gives the beer fruity aromas and the typical wheat beer character. But Tilman wouldn’t be Tilman if his wheat beer didn’t have a twist. Unlike conventional wheat, its variant is cold-hopped and is therefore bursting with citrus-fresh fruit aromas and a white wine note that is not to be despised.
Traditional or not, the wheat from Tilman’s beers is already a classic and is in no way inferior to its original.
