The Schlossbrauerei Ellingen has been brewing the finest beer for more than 330 years. You can see and taste this centuries-old brewing tradition: the beers from the castle are handcrafted masterpieces with character and soul.
The beer, named after Carl Philipp Fürst von Wrede, is still produced today in the traditional copper brewery of the historic brewery. The raw materials for the good beer come from regional farmers, the water is drawn from the brewery’s own well. Exquisite beer is brewed from hand-picked ingredients in a gentle process and under the expert supervision of Franconian master brewers. Schlossgold is an absolute favorite in the Schlossbrauerei’s range. The export beer has a strong character and delights with great malt notes and is produced according to the brewery’s oldest, still preserved recipe.
A princely pleasure!
Castle gold flows into the glass in a light amber gold and smells heavenly of caramel, smoked malt and spicy blossom honey when poured. It is olfactory reminiscent of malt beer, the malt-accentuated taste confirms this impression. Smooth notes of creamy caramel, spicy yeast and fine malt caress the palate. Schlossgold is a successful composition of sweet, malty notes and a touch of fresh citrus hops. The subtle bitterness harmonizes wonderfully with the malty play of aromas.
Fürst Carls Schlossgold is a Franconian country beer with classic aromas that goes well with down-to-earth and hearty cuisine.
