For a long time, festivals were only the place to go for die-hard music fans. Days of camping in muddy fields, makeshift sanitary facilities, loud crowds and canned ravioli would not appeal to many, but these days things are very different. It feels like there are 100 new festivals every year that cater to the different (music) tastes of the population. There are events for die-hard metal fans, alternative indie celebrations, samba festivals, psychedelic camps, small niche parties and pop events that draw hundreds of thousands of people.
NBG Pop is also among the younger festivals. The event takes place every year in October and is spread across numerous event stages spread across the city of Nuremberg. The musicians perform in bars and pubs, gardens, shops, clubs, churches and museums. Accompanying the musical performances there is a conference with discussions, workshops and various lectures.
To go with this colorful highlight, Nürnberger Orca Brau, together with the organizers, came up with a tasty festival beer. The beery version of the NBG Pop is a pale lager brewed with a selection of regional and international raw materials from controlled organic agriculture. The Single Hop Braustück focuses on the Citra hop variety and wonderfully brings out the juicy citrus spectrum of the cones. For that special kick, the beer was also dry-hopped.
