The brewers at Munich Brew Mafia really went to great lengths for their Don Limone: the light beer was treated four times with hops, so that the end result was a hop-intensive beer specialty. Hop overload in the best sense of the word!
You can do a lot with hops: you can use hops in almost every phase of beer brewing, hops are actually always possible. To ensure that the full flavor range of the Citra hops used ends up in the beer, the brewers at Munich Brew Mafia have exhausted every possible option and used the hops from start to finish. The result is a hoppy, hoppy, hoppy masterpiece!
The Don, as the brewers affectionately call their creation, presents itself in an innocent, sunny yellow in the glass. Wonderful hoppy scents rise from the white head of foam: freshly mown grass meets sun-ripened lemon and juicy orange in the nose. The wonderfully sparkling first impression continues into the drink. A fruit basket of fresh fruit reaches the palate and pampers the tongue with sour lemon, ripe orange, tart pink grapefruit and soft, velvety mirabelle plum. Quite atypical for a Pilsner, The Don holds back a lot when it comes to bitter substances. Of course it gets a bit bitter towards the finish, but compared to conventional Pilsners it remains tame and very drinkable.
This award-winning pilsner is an absolute recommendation for anyone looking for a smooth introduction to the IBU-intensive world of pilsners!
