After David Hertl of the Hertl brewery started the trend in 2019 by launching a hop-infused gin , more and more breweries followed suit in the following years, developing spirits centered around the aromatic hop cone. The Wacken brewery also offers a hoppy gin.

Without a doubt, beer is the favorite drink of everyone wielding the mash paddle in Wacken, but every now and then, something different is welcome. Their fine gin, created in collaboration with the Holsteiner Geister distillery, provides a welcome change of pace. For an exquisite taste experience, the unmistakable juniper flavor of classic gin is combined with freshly harvested hop cones from the brewery's own hop garden. The collaborators selected the Cascade hop variety. This extremely popular variant in the craft beer scene delivers an intense range of citrus notes, from orange and grapefruit to mandarin and lemon. Furthermore, this green gold conjures up subtle hints of lychee, pine resin, and blossoms in the drink.

The hop gin from Wacken comes with a cone of Cascade hops in the bottle and is the color of clear spring water. Its aroma and flavor are characterized by spicy juniper, floral notes, and juicy citrus facets. This spirit is the perfect drink for special moments and should appeal to all hop lovers.
