Thor is a god in Norse and Germanic mythology who embodies opposites. As the god of weather, he commands storms, thunder, tempests, wind, and rain, and is feared by seafarers. However, he also brings good weather and fertility. He acts as a protector of humankind from the wrath of other gods and giants, and he also symbolizes power, protection, courage, strength, and divine order. His weapon of choice is a hammer with both a name and its own legends: Mjölnir is a magical tool that always hits its target and faithfully returns to its owner’s hand after its work is done.

In the metal scene, Thor’s hammer appears in the design concepts of many bands and is worn as jewelry. The Wacken Brewery is an integral part of this musical landscape and offers a Nordic Lager that pays euphonious tribute to the majestic weapon. This lager, brewed in the style of a classic Pilsner, is dry-hopped with delicate aroma hops and has a moderate alcohol content of 5.3%.
