After the Easy Pale Ale and the Kellerpils , the Local IPA Sud is number 3, which comes from the new brewing system of the young and fresh Orca Brau brewery. Felix vom Endt is the head, heart and hand behind the Orca Brau project and runs the business together with his wife and child. The dynamic trio made a name for itself from the start and inspires the beer scene with creative beers and real classics with a new coat of paint.
The Local IPA is a modern interpretation of the traditional India Pale Ales and is called “local” because the hops used, like the brewery itself, come from Franconia. The highly aromatic hops Cascade and Huell Melon give the beer its juicy character and make the Local IPA not only a local hero but also a real summer hit.
The IPA flows into the glass in a cloudy gold tone and forms a small head of foam. On the nose, the Local IPA is spicy, fruity and with a strong hint of sun-dried grain. The initial taste reveals a medium-weight body with a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel. A good amount of carbonic acid makes the aromas dance on the tongue and tingles on the palate. On a basis of freshly baked bread, the hops bloom in all fruit facets and delights the taste buds with notes of gooseberry, pine resin, juicy orange and tangy lemons. A dry bitterness rounds off the juicy taste experience.
