here comes the sun

Iced tea is a summer refreshment made from tea and fruit or herbs and a little sugar. Our favorite version is based on a strong black tea flavored with freshly squeezed lemon juice, brown sugar and verbena. Served with a few ice cubes, a straw and an umbrella, this is the perfect thirst quencher for hot days and those when we sorely miss the scorching heat and dazzling light of summer. The team at Nuremberg’s Orca Brau seems to have similar preferences when it comes to iced tea: They dream of a refreshing brew of black tea, lemon, mint and cardamom in summer and winter. And because almost everything that is great without beer tastes even better with beer, the brewers have quickly turned it into a brew piece.

Here Comes The Sun is a smoothie IPA based on barley and oat malt and the hops Citra and Mosaic, which has been given a creamy sweetness by means of lactose. Black tea, fresh mint, sun-kissed lemons and a spicy pinch of cardamom create a summery flair in the beer glass. In terms of aroma and taste, Here Comes The Sun delivers everything you would expect from a classic lemon iced tea: tangy citrus notes, the earthy bitterness of black tea, a cool hint of peppermint and a honey-like sweetness.
