Like the Bierothek® in Frankfurt and Stuttgart, the Bierothek® Munich also has its own house beer. The house beer is a beer that was brewed specifically for the respective Bierothek® and represents the location.
The Bierothek® Munich has chosen a real classic for its house beer: Münchner Dunkel is a beer that has been brewed and drunk in Munich since time immemorial. It's a down-to-earth, dark lager with tons of character and flavor. The Reichenbacher Münchner Dunkel flows into the glass in a deep, copper-red mahogany tone and forms a beige head of foam. A wonderful composition of dark scents rises from the foam. In the nose, the aroma of dark malt meets the aromas of freshly baked bread, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate, cocoa and dried red fruits. The initial taste reveals a light to medium body and a fine carbonic acid. On the tongue, the Munich Dark is gentle, beautifully sweet and pleasantly sour. The dark beer is an aromatic composition of spicy notes, dark malts, the aroma of cocoa and caramel and a hint of chocolate roses. The finish is surprisingly dry and leaves you wanting another bottle.
The Bierothek® Munich house beer is a genuine Bavarian beer specialty and, with its dark notes, goes perfectly with red meat and heavy, sweet desserts.
