The Eschenbach private brewery is located in the lively center of Franconian brewing and has been contributing to the diverse beer landscape of its homeland for eight generations. The Eltmann brewery’s product range is down-to-earth and unfussy. Hand-crafted classics from Franconia and Bavaria adorn the shelves. One of the most popular beers from the pen of the Eschenbach brewmasters is the Edel-Märzen, a traditional drink that is brewed according to a recipe passed down from generation to generation.
The noble drop flows into the glass in a coppery shimmering fawn color and is crowned with a cotton-soft, densely porous cap of ivory-colored foam. The successful appearance is rounded off by a tantalizing scent: lightly roasted grain, toffee and raisins enchant the tip of the nose and entice you to take the first sip. The first sip is gently carbonated and brings a harmony of malt and ripe apples to the tongue. Little by little, tenderly melting caramel, earthy herbs and toasted nuts join in. An edgy bitterness gives the brew character and harmoniously balances the sweetness.
Due to its well-rounded, tasty aroma, the Edel-Märzen goes well with a whole range of different dishes. We like to serve it with grilled food. A juicy grilled chicken fillet with rosemary potatoes and orange and fennel salad tastes wonderful with it. If you prefer something a little heartier, you can also enjoy it with dark meat.
