Brew number 6 from Molter is an export beer. In contrast to common beer styles such as Helles, Pils or Weizen, export beer is somewhat less well-known and not everyone can imagine what this name means. The origin of export goes back to the idea of producing a long-lasting beer that can survive long distances without any loss of quality. A bottom-fermented full-bodied beer with a high original wort content and an alcohol content of at least 5.0 percent was developed, which could be sent abroad without any problems. Depending on the region, there were different versions of this brew; the Dortmund, Munich and Vienna exports were particularly outstanding.
The Bavarian brewery Molter has ventured to create its own version of the style and has put its own personal stamp on the export using organic raw materials. Its naturally cloudy Sud 6 is brewed every year in spring and autumn and brings a mild malt fullness to the glass in addition to a pleasant 5.3% alcohol content.
Molter’s Bio Export is a delicately clouded old gold and is decorated with a good head of foam. The aroma and taste are characterized by full-bodied notes of gently roasted malt. The well-dosed hops provide a hint of fresh acidity and a harmonious bitterness that skilfully rounds off the play of aromas. Delicious!
