Nestled between rolling hills, dense forests, and idyllic half-timbered villages lies the Westerwald – a region known for its pristine nature, fresh air, and authentic charm. Golden cornfields alternate with deep, emerald-green forests and rolling hills, and sunsets over the valleys bathe the landscape in a warm gold. It's a region where traditions are part of everyday life and crafts are still practiced with passion.
Located in the heart of this picturesque setting – in the tranquil town of Hachenburg – is the Westerwald Brewery. Their Westerwald Brewery is a tribute to the region and to its founder, Heinrich Schneider, who laid the foundation for the brewery. The brewers have reworked an old recipe and created a brew just like it used to be: authentic, down-to-earth, and full-bodied.
In the glass, Westerwald-Bräu shines with a clear, old gold hue, crowned by a white, creamy head reminiscent of fluffy clouds over the Westerwald. The slightly higher original gravity gives this bottom-fermented specialty depth and character. On the palate, the beer is pleasantly drinkable, with a fine malt note, subtle hop bitterness, and a harmonious, round finish.
The Westerwald-Bräu brings a sip of Westerwald into your glass and presents tradition and region in a delicious way.
