La Trappe is a brewery that specializes in the production of the finest Belgian-style beers and has cultivated and nurtured this fine art for more than 140 years. As the rules of the Trappist seal stipulate, monks are still involved in the brewing process and the beer is produced within the monastery walls of Koningshoeven Abbey. Because La Trappe is not only concerned with continuing its old traditions, they also have an open eye for the constantly changing needs of their customers and the fast-moving beer market. The brewery has expanded its core range to include countless examples over the past few decades, has been offering a successful special series of barrel-aged specialties for years and currently brews the only Trappist Bock beer in the world.
La Trappe Bock beer has been voted the best Bock beer in the Netherlands several times and is enjoyed by strong beer fans all over the world. The chestnut-brown brew with a ruby-red sheen brings a strong 7.0% alcohol content to the glass and is crowned with a wonderfully creamy cap of ivory-colored foam. A symphony of roasted grain, freshly brewed coffee and nuts entices you to take a sip. La Trappe's Bock beer has a voluminous body and caresses the palate with roasted aromas, mocha, tenderly melting caramel, yeast, woody herbs, spicy liquorice and a hint of smoke. Intense!
