Some beers are silky smooth soul-soothing beers that pamper the palate with a wealth of harmonious flavor components, caress the throat like kid gloves and spread pleasant warmth in the stomach. Others, on the other hand, are edgier, scratchier, more stubborn and more challenging. Uiltjes Red Shirt Rodeo Riding definitely belongs in the latter category.
The Red India Pale Ale was created in collaboration with Hollands Hophuis and brings the powerful hop varieties Barbe Rouge and Elixir into the arena. Both types come from France and are known for their temperament and intense aroma. Barbe Rouge brings fruity berry notes and juicy citrus notes into the aroma play, while Elixir conjures up the forest in the glass and shines with floral, woody and citrus-fresh elements. The cowboys from Uiltje and Hollands Hophuis took these wild bulls by the horns and tamed them into a thoroughly drinkable, flavorful IPA in a copper-red robe. The airy ivory head exudes an enticing scent of roasted malt, toffee and a whole range of ripe, red fruits. Anyone brave enough to enter this Plaza de Toros will be rewarded with an explosion of grapefruit, herbs, citrus, caramel, toasted bread and pine resin.
Uiltjes Red Shirt Rodeo Riding is a sonorous IPA with a powerful character and plenty of oomph. Yihaaaa!
