The roots of this beer lie in Mexico in the last millennium. Founded in 1899, Sol has been bringing golden sunshine to your glass ever since.
The sun is the central theme of this beer and that’s not just because it comes from a particularly sunny, warm country. All the ingredients of the drink only grow and thrive when the sun shines sufficiently. In addition, the brew perfectly captures the Mexican joie de vivre and banishes it in liquid gold. In 2020, another factor came along: the brewery invested in a large number of solar panels and now uses the photovoltaic systems to generate electricity for beer production and bottling. The demand cannot be completely covered by the sun, but the brewery is working flat out on it. This significant step towards sustainability reduces the ecological footprint of the brewery and ensures that our resources are used more carefully.
The sun beer flows into the glass in the color of liquid sunbeams and is crowned with a hand’s breadth of fluffy foam. A mild bouquet of light malt, spicy yeast and subtle fruit fills the air. The first taste reveals a slim, light-footed body with sparkling freshness and a composition of grain, notes of fruit, honey and a hint of hops.
