When brewers meet, it's always a spectacle. They drink together, exchange information about brewing techniques, raw materials, beer styles and the latest innovations, offer each other advice and support and find a lot of inspiration from talented colleagues. Year after year, breweries from all over the world come together for the hop harvest in the Yakima Valley to enjoy the abundance of aromatic cones and secure the best selection.
On this occasion in 2023, the breweries Rye River Brewing Co. from Ireland and Poppels Bryggeri from Sweden also met. They hit it off right away and decided to join forces. The fruit of their collaboration is the Round Feet IPA, a sunny brew that revolves around the brand new hop variety HBC 1019. This green gold combines tropical fruit with tangy citrus and a hint of creamy caramel - the perfect base for a sinfully delicious IPA!
The Round Feet IPA flows into the glass in a finely clouded, creamy pale gold and is crowned with a cotton-soft, densely porous head of foam. A nose of exotic fruit entices you to take the first sip, which skilfully continues the fruity first impression. Tropical fruits combine with grapefruit and candied stone fruits to create an extremely juicy affair. A floral hop note, a fiery 7.0% alcohol content, a little toffee and a crisp bitterness round off the pleasure.
