May we introduce Juicy Lucy.
The easy-going lady is always ready for fun and with her lively character, her sweet nature and her quick-wittedness she is guaranteed to put you in a good mood. The full 6.0% alcohol content certainly doesn’t hurt either!
Juicy Lucy comes from the South African brewery Devil’s Peak and is an American IPA. The blonde beauty is brewed with a generous amount of aromatic hops, while still tending towards the milder side of India Pale Ales. When developing this beer, the brewers attached great importance to exploiting the full potential of the hops without overdoing the bitterness. The result is a juicy IPA with full-bodied aromas, a voluminous body and a creamy mouthfeel. The latter is supported by the addition of oatmeal.
The South African interpretation of an American India Pale Ale presents itself in naturally cloudy amber in the glass. The strong cloudiness comes from the huge amounts of hops and the special yeast that went into the kettle to make this beer. Both the scent and the taste are brimming with exuberant hop notes: Ripe pineapple, passion fruit, mango, peach, apricot and citrus fruit combine with a fine bitterness and a hint of oven-fresh brioche to create an enchanting symphony.
