Schneider Weisse is the oldest wheat beer brewery in Bavaria and a brewery steeped in tradition. It is the home of true wheat experts and a source of ever new, fantastic wheat beers. One of our absolute favorites is Tap 5, the Hopfenweisse, which showcases the fabulous range of wheat.
Tap 5 My Hopfenweisse from Schneider Weisse flows into the glass in a cloudy amber gold and is crowned by a white foam. Small pearls flow tirelessly from the bottom of the glass and transport a delicate scent of creamy banana, candied orange peel and delicately spicy yeast to the surface. The initial taste presents hops and malt in perfect balance, supported by a light-footed body with pleasant carbonation. In terms of taste, the light initially appears fruity: soft, creamy banana meets sweet mango and a hint of orange. The malt adds a base of creamy caramel. A touch of spicy yeast and a delicate bitterness elegantly underline the play of aromas. A touch of pine resin and a hoppy herbal note complement the mix. The finish is hop-green and has a crisp bitterness that lingers on the tongue for a long time.
The Hopfenweisse is the perfect beer for all wheat beer beginners. It is wonderfully balanced and dances back and forth between delicate hop notes, soft malt aromas and a wonderful tartness. It is unusually varied and extremely tasty!
