pinsl® pale märzen

Beer is a good thing in itself, but when it follows in the footsteps of a legend, it's arguably the best thing in the world. The Pale Märzen from Pinsl was named after a real Franconian legend: after the Erlanger original and artist Erhard Königsreuther, who was nicknamed Pinsl. Until his death, the self-proclaimed mountain king was up to mischief in the pubs and bars of Erlangen, where he exchanged art for beer. The man was considered a figurehead of the Erlanger Bergkirchweih and was a welcome guest of all innkeepers, not least because each of them hoped to receive a real “Pinsl” in exchange for one or two beers.

The Bierothek® Erlangen wants to honor the memory of Erhard Königsreuther and has therefore dedicated its own beer to him. The Pale Märzen Pinsl flows into the glass in a clear amber tone and forms a stately, white head of foam. A potpourri of wonderful scents flows from the creamy, thick foam. Intense caramel malts meet the seductive scent of red berries on the nose. A spicy hint of yeast and pine resin are added, as well as a fresh hop undertone. In terms of taste, the Märzen follows the olfactory first impression: beautifully malty, Pinsl presents a delicious range of different aromas and closes with a crisp, bitter finish.

The Pinsl Märzen is to the point like its role model and namesake Erhard “Pinsl” Königsreuther.
