Ghosts are generally a creepy business. They lurk in dark corners, make eerie noises, float ominously through gloomy corridors, and wait slyly under our beds or in our wardrobes for us to discover them. They rattle rusty chains, fly through the air in fluttering, blood-stained robes, open all the kitchen cupboards, make objects float, and moan nerve-wrackingly. You wouldn't want them as roommates.

On the label of their newest New England IPA, Pop!, the Blech.Brut brewery presents us with a very different kind of ghost: a small specimen wrapped in a white bedsheet with gold trim, shooting rainbows from its dark eyes and strolling through a field of blooming poppies. It doesn't look at all frightening and is sure to be a hit at any party – especially considering that behind this cheerful, paranormal apparition lies a delicious beer with a lively 6.5% ABV.

The juicy NEIPA Pop! is wonderfully crisp and smooth thanks to a trio of barley, wheat, and oat malts. Citra, Idaho 7, and Sabro hops conjure a fruity, tropical, and citrusy aroma. Gentle hints of exotic coconut, earthy herbs, and spicy pine resin perfectly round out the flavor profile, while a soft, harmonious bitterness elegantly contrasts the lush fruit flavors.
