A Fränkisch, in German "a Franconian", is the beer that brought Schübel Bräu international fame more than ten years ago. But one after the other.
The Stadtsteinach brewery Schübel is a family business from the Kulmbach area. After the brewery was passed down from a whole series of parents to their children, today the fifth generation, Jürgen Münch and his wife Andrea Schübel-Münch, is at the helm. And the sixth is already waiting: Son Mario has already completed his training as a maltster and brewer and daughter Lea-Sofia is already busy working with him. In 2010, just in time for Franconian Day on July 2nd, the brewery published A Franconian. The wonderful cellar beer not only delighted the people of Stadtsteinach, but also the jurors of the European Beer Star. Only two years after its appearance, the Franconian classic won a bronze medal in the renowned competition and gained international recognition.
The traditional brew brings a mild 4.9% alcohol content to the table and is made with selected ingredients from regional farmers. In the glass, the delicacy shows itself in a shimmering copper chestnut brown, an ivory-colored head of foam is enthroned on the delicately cloudy body. Scent and taste are composed of notes of fresh bread dough, sun-ripened grain, yeasty spice and a hint of caramel.
