A whole range of different dishes go well with light beer: The balanced character of the brew harmonizes with hearty meat dishes such as burgers, but thanks to its light freshness it also complements desserts such as Kaiserschmarrn, cake or panna cotta. Our favorite with Hellen - especially when it comes from Franconia - are Franconian delicacies. The soft malt, the hints of caramel and the subtle notes of bread of a traditional lager perfectly complement the delicacies of this fairly hearty cuisine. Roast pork with a dark sauce, homemade dumplings and red cabbage, roasted sausages straight from the grill with caraway rolls and sauerkraut, Schäuferla with a crispy crust, sauerbraten or a whole knuckle are the ideal accompaniments to Hellen and turn beer enjoyment into a feast for all the senses.
The Helle from the Schübel Bräu, for example, is great with all these dishes and all on its own. The family brewery comes from Stadtsteinach in Upper Franconia and has been brewing the finest beer for more than 150 years. Today, the fifth generation of the Schübel family is behind the boiler and ensures that the entire Kulmbach area (and you) is supplied with the best beer.
A real classic in their down-to-earth range is the Schübel Hell: an unfiltered cellar beer with character. The tasty brew is brewed by hand and brings the soul of Franconia into your glass.
