Comic-Con in New York is probably the most famous gathering of nerds, geeks and fans of superheroes. Every year, like-minded people come together in disguise and without to indulge their shared passion for drawn and animated comics, meet their heroes, and share the latest stories and characters. The brewers at the Brooklyn Brewery are also comic geeks and therefore exactly the right choice to provide the nerdy big event with a suitable beer.
As the official brewers of Comic-Con, they have come up with a beer that not only looks great at the event: The Defender IPA comes in the design of a comic and refreshes exhausted convention visitors with tropical fruit notes, rich hops and an invigorating 5.5% alcohol content.
The juicy Golden IPA flows into the glass in a magnificent shade of gold and carries a fleeting crown of snow-white foam on the delicately cloudy body. A tempting scent of freshly baked cake mixes with lime, pine resin and herbs in the nose to create an irresistible potpourri. The attack reveals a lean, full-bodied beer that tastes of fine malt, creamy caramel, green hops, sun-ripened citrus and spicy resin. A dry bitterness underlines the play of aromas and rounds off the beer enjoyment with a long-lasting finish.
