Delicious and Skal certified!
Skal is a European organic label introduced and controlled by Dutch authorities. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Control created the seal and developed the strict framework for the award. Producers whose food is Skal certified are inspected at least once a year without prior notice.
The Bierbrouwerij de Koningshoeven, which brews the world-famous La Trappe Trappist beer, also has specimens in its range that bear the Skal seal. Their popular La Trappe Puur is one of them. The unfiltered Trappist ale is made from 100% organic raw materials and the brewers are still monks to this day. The clergymen brew a tasty, light-footed and refreshing ale from water, malt, hops, yeast and sugar, which offers the perfect balance of pleasant bitterness, silky-soft mouthfeel and mild tartness.
The fine drop flows into the glass in a cloudy Korngold and adorns itself with a stately crown of airy and fleeting foam. A composition of freshly baked brioche, light malt, aromatic yeast, herbs and lime zest fills the air. The initial taste is similar to the olfactory first impression and pleases with malt tones, nice spice, grassy and herbaceous hop notes, strong yeast and tangy hints of citrus. A dry, soft finish crowns the beer enjoyment.
