The original Quadrupel from La Trappe is a real sensation: The powerful brew brings 10.0% alcohol to the table and captivates you with its magnificent appearance and heavenly taste. The copper-red brew combines soft roasted aromas with warm spices, roasted nuts, creamy caramel and Medjool dates - an irresistible symphony! To top off this exquisite creation, the Belgian brewery decided in 2009 to let it mature in oak barrels. This additional intermediate step enriches the brew with a spicy wood aroma and deepens its natural taste many times over. The first version of the barrel-aged Quadrupel was extremely well received, so La Trappe quickly made a series of it.
The number of beers in the range has now climbed to over 50 and is now an integral part of the range.
At this point we would like to introduce you to La Trappes Oak Aged Batch 38. For this round, the brewers selected only barrels in which white wine from southern France had previously been stored. Batch 38 was composed of three individual brews of different ages: the components matured for one, two and three years in oak barrels. The finished quadruple has a soft, silky texture, a dry character and a luxurious taste profile that consists of strong roasted aromas, spicy vanilla, dried red fruits, herbs and gentle white wine notes.
