Endgame, only a few pieces remain on the chessboard and each piece now becomes more and more important. The Estonian brewery Lehe and St. Erhard from Bamberg have composed a slightly different barleywine and it is definitely worth seeing. The use of just one type of hop and a minimalist selection of barley malt give this barleywine its very special profile: aromas of dried fruits and caramel reach your nose and are also well accentuated in the taste profile thanks to the perfectly adjusted recency. Pleasantly sweet and strong in the finish, the end game between Lehe and St. Erhard definitely leaves a lasting impression and leaves you wanting more.
