The small symbol "&" runs like a thread through the concept of Brouwerij De Molen. It can be found in the logo, it hangs in large banners all around the brewery, it is in every text, it is emblazoned on all labels and it is the core of the team's philosophy. De Molen's motto is "It's the & that blows your mind". This motto encompasses a whole range of exciting ideas. Combining supposedly incompatible raw materials, thinking outside the box and not adhering to conventions, making the impossible achievable and uniting opposites are just some of the things that inspire and motivate the team. The identity of the De Molen brewery is in the & and opens up a world in which anything is possible. The brewers live out this freedom in their fabulous beers: the range consists of a series of sophisticated brews that marry two incompatible words into a harmonious whole. Water & Vuur, for example, plays with the contrast between the elements of fire and water by combining the brewers' fiery passion with a thirst-quenching, refreshing brew. The & doesn't just affect the beer, however, but also plays a role in the team itself: De Molen has been working with the Philadelphia Foundation for years and employs more than a dozen people with intellectual disabilities who work in all areas of the brewery's operations.
