The name of this beer from Bereta Brewing sounds extremely auspicious: Juicebag promises a diverse abundance of juicy, ripe fruits and that is exactly what the New England IPA from Romania delivers.
The hop varieties Citra, Mosaic and Strata are responsible for the rich fruit character of this beer. They give the beer its summery fruitiness and a hint of pine resin, which wonderfully complements the sweetness and acidity of the fruit notes with woody spice and freshness. A generous dose of oat flakes makes the beer a silky-soft palate with a smooth mouthfeel.
Thematically appropriate, Juicebag flows into the glass in the color of freshly squeezed orange juice and has an airy crown of volatile foam on the naturally cloudy body. And the scent is also reminiscent of fruit juice: soft smells of ripe apricots, tender vineyard peaches and tangy citrus fruits fill the air and act as tempting heralds for drinking pleasure. The first taste reveals a firework of hops of the fruity variety. Orange, mandarin, grapefruit and kumquat represent the Citra hop variety with an impressive variety, the other two hops deliver harmonious notes of velvety peaches, sun-kissed apricots, golden mango and a handful of other tropical fruits. The strong yeast note rounds off the play of aromas with fine spice, while notes of pine and herbs as well as an increasing bitterness give the beer a contrast and structure.
