After the birthday beer on the occasion of the anniversary of Horizont Brewing was so well received in the first two years, the brewers have also come up with a beer for their brewery’s anniversary this year. In order to let the fans of Horizont Brewing not only participate in the finished product but also in the process, friends and fans of the brewery were able to vote on the final variety and chose Double Hazy Queen from a small selection of the finest craft beers: an incredibly creamy Double New England IPA made with tons of hops.
The hop varieties mentioned are Nelson Sauvin, Citra and Mosaic, which give the beer its strong stature, crisp bitterness and exuberantly fruity, tropical character. A good amount of malt skillfully balances the hoppy abundance and contributes a full-bodied smoothness and light cereal notes.
The naturally cloudy queen of India Pale Ales presents itself in a classic amber-gold in the glass and carries a small crown of dense-pored foam on the richly cloudy body. An exotic bouquet fills the air and entices you to drink with hints of citrus and green hops. This reveals a smooth mouthfeel and juicy notes of peach, papaya and citrus fruits. A heavy bitterness crowns Horizon’s hoppy Queen.
Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oat flakes, flaked wheat, dextrose, hops & yeast.
