Folk festivals are a lively part of Bavarian culture and take place in abundance every summer in all regions of the state. People gather on meadows and large squares equipped with beer benches, rides, food stalls, stages and all kinds of stalls. Hearty and sweet delicacies are just as much a part of the spectacle as music, dancing, conviviality and coziness. And of course, beer is a must. At the Oktoberfest, the largest and most famous of all folk festivals, people drink the beer from beer mugs that, with their 1.069 litre capacity, can quench a lot of thirst for beer. A wonderful treat!
