Festival beer is a nice tradition that mainly exists in southern Germany. The festival calendar includes a whole series of event highlights that extend throughout the year. Traditionally, these festive occasions are greeted with a suitable beer. Almost every village in Franconia has its own brewery - the selection of fine festival beers is correspondingly diverse. The seasonally brewed specialties are made for church festivals, the beginning of spring, Lent, autumn or Christmas and provide beer lovers with powerful beers for special occasions.
If you are a fan of festival beer or live in a corner where this great tradition does not exist, you will find a large selection of these special creations with us.
An extremely drinkable variant from Upper Franconia comes from the Held-Bräu: year after year, the Oberailsfeld family brewery presents its customers with a glamorous festival beer just in time for Advent, which warms body and soul with 5.3% alcohol content and an abundance of soft malt notes. The noble drop is not quite as massive as comparable beers, but enchants with a harmony of oven-fresh bread, airy biscuit, sun-ripened straw, hearty grain, tenderly melting caramel and tart spice. A hint of grass and gentle, earthy tones of hops underscore the play of aromas and round off the taste perfectly.
