A king among the beers from Braumanufaktur Hertl is the Bourbon King, and not just because it’s called that.

The princely drink already cuts a pretty good figure from the outside. The rich whiskey double bock comes in heavy clay bottles with a capacity of 0.33l and a swing top. A grandiose design by the artist duo ATE and a golden bonnet harmoniously round off the majestic look. But that was just the beginning! If you pour the Doppelbock into the glass, you will be rewarded with golden amber and a stunning fragrance. The six-month aging in bourbon casks is already noticeable olfactory: A complex composition of intense malt, spicy vanilla and exquisite whiskey fills the room. The first sip inevitably follows and takes the taste buds into a malty world of indulgence. Velvety-soft, delicately melting caramel, roasted cereals, crisp stone-oven bread and candied dark fruits ensnare the palate. The wooden barrel contributes exotic vanilla notes, a rich bourbon aroma and a certain earthiness. The stately 11.0% is so cleverly integrated into the flavor profile that you only notice it from the warmth that spreads throughout the body.
