There are events in life that rarely happen. These include first times, weddings, school enrollment, degrees, the driving test, turning 16 or the birth of a child. The latter only recently happened to master brewer David Hertl from the Hertl brewery: David’s first son was born and gave the Hertl family cause for great joy. And anyone who knows the Hertls knows that a party is not a party if you don’t have the right beer to toast.
Of course, David Hertl did not slip into this situation unprepared. The resourceful master brewer has prepared a beer that celebrates the happy arrival of his offspring and gives all friends of the brewery the opportunity to drink a glass to the new earthly citizen.
The festival beer is aptly named The Circle of Life and falls into the Milkshake IPA category. This subspecies of India Pale Ales is characterized by its incredible creaminess and the creamy, almost grippy structure. David’s interpretation of a Milkshake IPA also contains milk sugar, which gives the mix a soft sweetness that harmonizes wonderfully with the aromas of the hops. Sabro and Citra BBC flavor the beer with a whole range of fruity notes.
Cheers to little Ben, welcome to the world!
