The Märzen beer is a classic style of beer that has its origins in Bavaria. The brew piece gets its name from the time when it used to be made. For a long time, breweries were not able to brew in the summer because of the lack of cooling options and the significant risk of fire from the open fire under the boiler. In order to be able to drink beer well into the autumn, a large stock was built up in the spring. So that the creations lasted longer and still tasted fine in August, a small amount of hops and malt was added to the brew. This strong, long-lasting beer was called Maerzen.

The Roppelt brewery, based in the Franconian town of Stiebarlimbach since 1799, has its own version of the Märzen beer, also known as the festival beer. Their version has an alcohol content of 5.2% and is brewed with the purest well water, locally sourced barley malt and aromatic hops. The brewery attaches great importance to quality and only uses the best raw materials for their beers. Her Maerzen flows into the glass in a glowing amber gold and has a malty flavor that has been refined with a mild bitterness. The popular brew is served at all festivals in and around Stierlimbach and in many inns in the region - but you can also find it here with us!
