The picturesque Itzgrund stretches between the cities of Bamberg and Coburg. On the banks of the Itz lie rolling meadows, dense forests, golden cornfields, labyrinths of towering corn plants, small villages and communities. In addition to the idyllic nature, the many inns and breweries in the region also attract visitors. In every corner there is a cozy parlor where you can enjoy hearty, home-made cooking and strong beer.
The Itzgrunder Landbier is a brew that goes perfectly with baked carp, Schäuferla, snacks, dumplings, chicken and sausages. This fine specialty was created by the Schleicher brewery. The traditional brewery masters the Franconian art of brewing and has a balanced range of strong beers. Their Landbier is a dark creation that scores with a cornucopia of malt and delicate hops.
The tasty drop presents itself in the glass in the color of fine whiskey and is adorned with a magnificent crown of airy, slightly tinted foam. Already in the nose you can feel the excellent balance of hops and malt: roasted grain meets toasted nuts and a fruity tartness. The initial taste skillfully continues this impression and plays crusty bread crust, roasted nuts, toffee, an earthy tartness and light-footed orange notes. In addition to the fruit component, the hops contribute a crisp bitterness and the nice spiciness.
