The lemon is an incredibly versatile citrus fruit that is indispensable in many national cuisines. We love grandma’s homemade lemon sponge cake with powdered sugar icing, but also appreciate the juice of the fruit as a natural acid in lemonades, salad dressings and on fish, seafood or fried foods. We use the zest for baking and to refine risotto and pasta dishes, or we make lemon butter from it. You can also make a wonderfully creamy jam from the sunny yellow fruit, or you can pickle it whole in brine and use the salted lemon for braised dishes or sauces. In summer we love lemon ice cream and we also find the fruit to be quite good in beer.
A classic that is often made with lemon juice or natural flavoring is the Radler. At this point we would like to introduce you to the non-alcoholic natural Radler from Warsteiner, which contains delicious lemon lemonade as well as the finest Pilsner.
The Warsteiner Naturradler Zitrone is available in aversion with 2.0% alcohol content and in this alcohol-free version. Both brews shine with a refreshing character and a skillfully seasoned balance of tart, bitter Pilsner and tangy, fruity and subtly sour lemonade. Its summery aroma makes the Radler the ideal thirst quencher when it’s warm outside and a delicious accompaniment to grilled food, fish dishes and Mediterranean dishes.
