Atzengold is a young brewery from the Fürth district of Atzenhof that focuses on producing a single beer. All their effort, all their heart and soul, every single move, their blood and sweat flow (figuratively, not literally) into Atzengold, a Franconian Helles with plenty of character.
Atzengold is made from the four classic ingredients of every beer brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law and contains crystal-clear brewing water, fine yeast, robust barley malt and the finest hops. From these select raw materials, the team conjures up a full-bodied beer in a delicately cloudy grain yellow, which is adorned with an impressive crown of stable, white foam. A spicy scent of sun-ripened grain, floral hops, freshly mown grass and citrus zest rises to the nose and promises tasty enjoyment. The first sip reveals a cleverly balanced pale beer with sparkling carbonation. Hints of warm yeast dough, pale malt and straw envelop the palate before the hops kick in and enrich the play of aromas with notes of grass, floral umbels and tangy citrus fruit. The pleasure culminates in a spicy, floral and crisp bitter finish that leaves you wanting and thirsting for more.
The word “Atzen” is derived from an old German synonym for “eat” and describes all those with whom you eat together and all those with whom you should share this delicious beer.
