The most popular time of year in Franconia is without a doubt the Bock beer season. And luckily for us, this special time comes twice a year: many breweries ring in spring with a fine Maibock and celebrate the colder months in autumn with a Winterbock. At Neuhauser Löwenbräu, the Bock beer season is eagerly awaited every year. Their autumn Bock is a fabulous opportunity to show off all their skills and is ceremoniously tapped in November.
The Strong Lion flows into the glass in a warm, shiny fawn brown and is crowned with an impressive crown made up of a fine-pored, dense and creamy foam in elegant ivory. A wonderful composition of dark grain bread, roasted nuts, oven-fresh sponge cake and tenderly melting caramel tickles the nose and skilfully entices you to take the first sip. The first sip follows the olfactory first impression and opens the beer enjoyment with robust spiciness, sun-ripened grain and golden honey. Little by little, hints of caramelized nuts, orange marmalade and dried apricots join in. The hops only enter the stage in the finish and add a subtle bitterness.
Zum Löwenbräu’s Starker Löwe is a true feast for the palate and delights with harmoniously balanced aromas, great drinkability and a lively 8.2% alcohol content, which warms body and soul even in the most terrible November weather.
