The Saison Dupont is the flagship of the brasserie of the same name and the beer that has been brewed for the longest time. The original recipe was penned by Louis Dupont, who first produced the fine ale in 1844. In the course of its almost 180-year existence, the classic has built up a good reputation all over the world and won numerous awards. Originally, the beer was brewed in winter, then filled into barrels and stored until summer. Due to its higher alcohol content and a small plus of sugar, the brew was wonderfully suitable for storage and, after months of maturing, tasted even better than fresh. Nowadays the saison is only stored in the bottles for eight weeks, but you can let the delicacy continue to mature well at home in your own cellar. As long as you can keep your hands off it.
Since the 1990s, the brewery has been producing its season in two different versions: brewed with conventional raw materials and those from controlled organic cultivation. With this step, the team at Brasserie Dupont demonstrated their flair for the zeitgeist and brought out the first organic beers in Belgium. The recipes for both versions are the same - the decision for or against organic is up to you!
