West Coast IPA rule No. 1? Hops, hops, hops!
The Polish brewers at Browar Pinta have gathered all their knowledge about the American West Coast version of the IPA and conjured up a masterful West Coast IPA. With combined forces and a ton of hops, Modern Drinking was created - an IPA that couldn't be more American, even though it comes from Poland.
Modern Drinking flows into the glass in a slightly cloudy amber tone. Sweet citrus notes rise from the small white head of foam, which combine on the nose with the resinous scent of pine and caramelly roasted malt. On the tongue, the West Coast IPA initially appears malty-sweet, before the hoppy notes of juicy citrus fruits join in and bring with them a subtle acidity. The IPA is well balanced between the sweetness of dark caramel and brown sugar and the nice, dry hop bitterness. Modern Drinking shows the craftsmanship of Pinta's brewers, who manage to bring out all facets of the aromatic hops. Floral, tropically fruity, citrus-strong and balanced bitter impresses us with their version of a West Coast IPA.
Honest, straightforward IPA with a ton of hop power!
