The König Ludwig Schloßbrauerei Kaltenberg is a Bavarian brewery that is well-versed in the beer-related demands of its customers. The company, which brews at four historic locations, has a wide range of down-to-earth beers to suit every taste. There is a particularly large variety of wheat beers: the Bavarian classic is brewed in a naturally cloudy version, in honor of a very special year, in non-alcoholic and in a light form - a wheat beer for every occasion.
A popular choice is the König Ludwig Weissbier Leicht. This slim version of the traditional wheat beer contains less original wort and therefore scores with reduced calorie content, a feather-light 2.9% alcohol and a light-footed body. Despite all the reduction, the beer shines with a full-bodied taste and typical Bavarian character.
The wheat beer from Kaltenberg flows into the glass in a brilliant corn gold and - if poured correctly - is permeated by a rich veil of yeast. A small crown of white foam sits on the cloudy body and smells appetizingly of sourdough bread, still green bananas and freshly grated lemon peel. The first sip delivers a soft, mild taste that is made up of oven-fresh brioche, gently roasted grain, banana and freshly mown grass. A hint of sweet and sour lemon skilfully rounds off the play of aromas.
