Mustard and honey - a match made in heaven!
This beer is a real eye-catcher in the Frenzel brewery’s range. Thanks to its curious list of ingredients, it does not comply with the Bavarian Purity Law, but should convince even the greatest critic of unusual beers. With their creation of mustard and honey, the resourceful brewers at Frenzel Bräu have combined two ancient traditions of the city of Bautzen. Mustard and beer go together like bread and butter. A strong grilled sausage with a generous amount of mustard goes with the well-chilled beer - this is how we imagine the perfect lunch break. However, the fact that you omit the detour via the bratwurst and pack the mustard directly into the beer is definitely innovative!
The unusual beer initially presents itself inconspicuously in the glass: it shines in golden amber and has a fine crown of white foam on its head. When it comes to the smell, however, the peculiarity of this beer becomes clearer. The strong scent of honey, grassy hops and gently roasted cereals is accompanied by a note of mustard that appears both hot and sweet. The initial taste reveals a beer with a stubborn character. Soft and sweet notes of malt and creamy honey caress the palate, the mustard adds a peppery flavor and gives the beer a very special kick.
Mustard honey - our absolute favorite beer with bratwurst, sausage rolls and grandma’s pickled pickles!
